Aloha Bud App
Welcome to the tropical paradise of Hawaii where I got my inspiration for my UI passion project. I selected Hawaii for my passion project because when searching for product I found it difficult to find a store location with the desired products as menus for the dispensaries are not consolidated on a single platform. My goal with this app was to make it easier and faster to find the products you need so you can have more time at the beach and less time searching for product, hence the birth of the Aloha Bud App.
I started with the Island of O’ahu specifically in the Honolulu area as it is the most populated area of the island giving the best chance to generate revenue. Given the small land area and high population concentration there are only three main dispensaries within that area making it a perfect candidate for a delivery and pick up app.
My intended role for the project was ideation forming the idea and structure for the app. I preformed UI design creating an art direction and maintaining a design system for the app and cultivating the brand design. I preformed UX design as well, prototyping and making sure every selection performs and functions the way envisioned. The result is an app that creates a user experience driving customers to right store for the right product.
To create the Aloha Bud project, I used Adobe software Photoshop, Illustrator, and XD to design and prototype as well as make promotional pictures to display. I’m using the home screen in the diagram above to give a window into the prototyping process and how some of the buttons are processed. On the other side is a video to show how the app flows and functions.
The Aloha Bud project exceeded my expectations, solving a market void by creating a user-friendly app and achieving the goal of consolidation.
